Job summary

Visiting Nurse Association of Texas (VNA) is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join its pediatric home health team in Dallas County. You will provide skilled nursing care in patients' homes, coordinate with an interdisciplinary group, and support families through complex care needs.

The role features a Monday–Friday schedule, strong emphasis on clinical leadership and patient advocacy, and opportunities for professional growth within a mission‑driven non‑profit in North Texas.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
• Current Texas State RN License and a valid Texas Driver’s License.
• Two years of RN experience in a clinical care setting; hospice experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to read and write English.
• Reliable transportation with auto liability insurance for local travel to patient homes.
• Proof of CPR, TB test, and Hepatitis consent/declination.
• Must pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive Assessment: Identify physical, psychosocial, and environmental needs of pediatric hospice patients.
• Care Planning: Implement, develop, and document individualized plans of care to ensure continuity and quality.
• Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical direction to Hospice Aides and LVNs and assist in training new staff.
• Patient Advocacy: Communicate effectively with families, team members, and healthcare professionals to meet patient needs.
• Emergency Response: Perform admissions as needed and participate in on-call responsibilities for emergencies.
