Job summary

Visiting Nurse Association of Texas (VNA Texas) seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our interdisciplinary hospice team, delivering skilled nursing care in patients' homes across Dallas County. The role is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
Current Texas State license as a Registered Nurse.
Proof of current CPR.
One year of RN experience in a clinical care setting; hospice preferred.
Valid Texas Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

Assess hospice patients to identify physical, psycho-social, and environmental needs.
Implement and document plan of care to ensure quality and continuity.
Apply infection control and standard precautions in patient care activities.
Provide clinical directions to Hospice Aide/LVN to ensure service quality.
Assure continuity of quality patient care with proper documentation.
Assist in training of new nurses and aides as needed.
Promote agency philosophy and policies.
Conduct admissions of new patients and manage scheduling priorities.
Ensure effective communication with patients, families, and health professionals.
