OU Health's Tulsa Pediatric Cardiology Clinic seeks a Patient Services Representative I to coordinate outpatient schedules and provide clerical support for smooth clinic operation.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, collecting demographics, verifying insurance, processing payments, and maintaining accurate encounter forms and charting in the EMR. Excellent communication and customer service skills required; HS diploma and 1+ year experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: 1+ year of professional work experience required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work with patients, families and external parties.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
• Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures.
• Keyboarding skills sufficient for position.

Responsabilités

• Schedules patient appointments, by phone or in person.
• Provides information about clinic operations.
• Obtains patient demographics for new patients and updates for existing.
• Answers telephone calls and distributes to appropriate staff.
• Coordinates schedules for patients needing multiple services.
• Greets patients entering the clinic for appointments.
• Accepts payments and writes receipts.
• Distributes encounter forms and checks for completeness and accuracy.
• Ensures resident and faculty signatures on encounter forms and charts.
• Copies insurance cards and uploads into the EMR as appropriate.
• Balances and closes personal cash drawer daily.
• Prepares ancillary forms for other services (e.g., x‑rays, vascular services).
• Promotes the Patient Portal for patient–clinic communication.
• Pulls patient charts for appointments or to file lab/x‑ray/hospital information.
• Copies medical records for patients and providers.
• Makes new patient charts and information packets.
• Discusses financial accounts with patients.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and PCPs for patients.
• Secures referrals for HMO patients.
• Secures referrals from PCPs for HMO patients to be seen in the clinic.
• Collects and verifies income to determine sliding scale discounts, if any.
• Monitors and acts on WQs in EMR for referrals.
