OU Health in Edmond, OK seeks a Patient Services Representative to coordinate patient schedules and provide clerical support in the Edmond Pulmonology Clinic. The role may be filled at Level 1 or Level 2 depending on experience and qualifications.

You will handle appointments, verify demographics, process payments, and assist with referrals and insurance confirmations, while promoting patient portal engagement and ensuring chart completeness.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience: Level 1 requires 1+ year in a professional setting; Level 2 requires 3+ years, including at least 6 months in a clinical environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and charting basics.

Responsabilités

• Schedules patient appointments by phone or in person.
• Provides information about clinic operations and policies.
• Obtains and updates patient demographics for new and existing patients.
• Answers calls and routes to appropriate staff.
• Greets patients entering the clinic for appointments.
• Accepts payments and issues receipts.
• Distributes and checks encounter forms for completeness and accuracy.
• Ensures signatures on encounter forms and charting are present.
• Copies insurance cards and uploads into the EMR.
• Balances daily cash drawer and reconciles receipts.
• Prepares ancillary forms for services (e.g., x-rays, vascular).
• Promotes patient portal for communication with the clinic.
• Pulls charts for appointments and files lab/x-ray results.
• Copies medical records for patients or providers.
• Occasionally creates new patient charts/packets.
• Discusses financial accounts with patients and verifies insurance eligibility.
• Secures referrals to other providers for HMO patients.
