Job summary

Urgent Care for Children (UC4C) in Alabama is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to welcome patients, handle check-in, and manage scheduling with the care team. This role supports registration, documentation, and day-to-day clinic flow in a fast-paced pediatric setting.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year in administrative/front-desk roles, familiarity with EMR systems, and strong organizational and communication skills to ensure a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in administrative/front-desk roles in healthcare is preferred.
• Strong communication skills with patients and families.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise in a fast-paced clinic.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary front desk contact, greeting patients and families.
• Manage check-in, registration, and scheduling workflows.
• Verify and maintain patient demographics and insurance in the EMR.
• Handle phone calls, documentation, and visit preparation tasks.
• Process payments and answer basic billing questions.
• Coordinate with clinicians and clinic staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Support outreach and follow-up related to scheduling and care coordination.
• Maintain a clean, organized front-office environment and assist with opening/closing routines.
• Offer cross-coverage and participate in process improvements as needed.
• Assist PCCs with back-office duties if qualified.
