Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is seeking a Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) in Pediatrics to deliver high-quality care for infants, children, and teens.

The role involves neonatal stabilization, discharge planning, and family education within a collaborative pediatric team. You will engage in ongoing patient assessments, administer medications, and support transfer services while coordinating with NPs and Neonatologists to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications

• 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience as an RN in at least two pediatric areas (PICU, ED, Med/Surg, or Neonatal ICU).
• ADN required; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend deliveries and perform neonatal stabilization and admission assessments.
• Create and revise care plans including discharge planning; evaluate effectiveness.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of infants and communicate changes to NP or Neonatologist.
• Administer medications and complete treatments per hospital policy.
• Assist transport teams in stabilization and documentation for transfer.
• Delegate work to non-licensed staff per standards of practice.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families.
