Job summary

St. Davids North Austin Medical Center in Austin, TX, is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Pediatric Float Pool to deliver high-quality care across neonatal and pediatric populations.

You will support families, perform newborn assessments, and collaborate with physicians and nurse practitioners to optimize outcomes. The role requires current TX RN licensure or compact license, ADN with BSN preferred, and certifications including BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS.

Qualifications

• Current TX RN license or Compact License; compact must obtain TX license within 90 days of hire
• ADN required; BSN preferred
• BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications required as per policy
• RN, (RNC-NIC) and other certifications preferred
• St. David’s Healthcare policy governs licensure and certifications

Responsibilities

• Attend deliveries and neonatal stabilization and admission assessments
• Create and revise care plans including discharge planning
• Perform ongoing infant assessments and communicate changes to care team
• Administer medications and complete treatments per policy
• Assist transport teams in stabilization of infants and documentation for transfer
• Delegate tasks to non-licensed staff per standards of practice
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families
