Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Baltimore is seeking an Emergency Department support role to assist with triage, patient movement, and basic clinical tasks. You will document vital signs, assist RN/MD staff, and help maintain efficient ED flow while ensuring compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities include blood draws, charting in the EHR, patient transport, and prep of rooms and supplies. Requires EMT/CRT/Paramedic training, CPR, and 1 year of related experience.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Successful completion of an accredited EMT/CRT/Paramedic program.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of related experience.
• Strong knowledge of triage criteria and department processes.
• Proficient computer and data entry skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure with compassion.
• Excellent communication with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Ability to collaborate with RN/MD staff and apply medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Complete triage documentation including vital signs and oxygen placement under RN direction.
• Maintain patient flow and communicate care plans to patients and families.
• Assist with room cleaning and report abnormal vitals to RNs.
• Take blood glucose, draw blood, and document procedures in EHR.
• Place monitors, respond to alarms, and assist with patient transfers.
• Stock rooms and treatment areas with supplies.
• Provide family support and assist with post-care needs.
