Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a patient-focused ED support technician to assist with triage, vitals, and basic phlebotomy under RN supervision. You will help maintain efficient patient flow and support care teams in a fast-paced emergency department.

The role requires EMT/CRT/Paramedic training, CPR certification, and at least one year of related experience, with strong computer and communication skills to ensure accurate documentation and patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduate from an accredited EMT, CRT, or Paramedic program.
• Current and valid CPR certification.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in related field.
• Knowledge of triage criteria and ED processes.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with computers and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Completes triage documentation including vital signs, venous access, phlebotomy, and oxygen placement under RN guidance.
• Maintains patient flow and communicates plan of care to patients and families.
• Assists with cleaning ED rooms and stocking supplies.
• Performs blood glucose testing and related tasks as directed.
• Records procedures in the EHR and reports abnormal results to RN/MD.
• Transports patients and supports ED operations as needed.
