Job summary

SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital is seeking a Regular Nurse to join the Emergency Department team on the night shift (7pm–7am), with rotating weekends/holidays. This role requires a nursing degree and at least six months of RN experience, plus current certifications such as BLS/ALS/ENPC/NRP/PALS/TNCC.

The RN will provide direct patient care, coordinate multidisciplinary treatment, and support discharge planning while adhering to ANA ethical standards and department protocols.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing
• Six months' registered nurse experience

Responsibilities

• Cares for patients with life threatening, medically complex critical illness or diagnosis.
• Delivers highly skilled care with use of technology and complex interventions.
• Initiates measures for emergency treatment of patients including infant resuscitation and advanced life support procedures.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
• Applies evidence-based practice to nursing care per department's scope of service.
• Demonstrates professional nursing standards defined by the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
