Job summary

Nicklaushealth in Sunset Corners, FL is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to support pediatric emergency room care under RN supervision. The role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care for newborns through adolescents in a family-centered environment.

You will perform pain assessments, vitals, assist with procedures, document in EMR, and collaborate to meet department standards while ensuring safety and compliance with the Florida Board of Nursing Practice Act.

Qualifications

• LPN license in Florida (or multi-state compact) must be active
• BLS certification active and in good standing
• CPI training within 12 months of start
• PALS certification within 2 years of employment
• Level II background check required
• 30-hour post-graduate IV Therapy course completed (or within timeframe)

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing pain assessments, vitals, and document timely updates to RN
• Assist with specimens, EKGs, CPR and procedures as needed
• Documentation of point-of-care test results in EMR (RSV, Flu, Strep, pregnancy tests, glucose, occult blood)
• Support patient flow and discharge planning with RN and team
• Administer medications and assist with IV therapy
• Complete bedside handoffs and maintain regulatory compliance
• Document nursing interventions and patient responses in EMR
• Restock supplies and prepare rooms for new patients
• Maintain error-free environment and meet department standards
• Provide supervision of behavioral health patients and CPI adherence
