Job summary

Miami Children’s Hospital is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our pediatric team. The role supports RN staff in delivering high-quality patient care for newborns to adolescents within a family-centered environment.

Responsibilities include pain assessments, administering medications, IV therapy support, and EMR documentation. The role emphasizes teamwork, patient safety, and efficient patient flow in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensed in Florida.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing pain assessments, vitals, and communicates with RN.
• Assists with specimen collection, lab transport, meds, EKG, CPR and procedures.
• Performs point-of-care testing and documents results in EMR (RSV, Flu, Strep, pregnancy, glucose).
• Supports patient transfer and flow during shifts; assists RN.
• Administers medications and assists with IV therapy.
• Conducts bedside handoffs at shift change and transfers.
• Completes discharge planning and patient/family education.
• Documents nursing interventions and patient response in EMR.
• Restocks supplies and assists with room turnover.
• Maintains a safe, error-free care environment and compliance with standards.
• Monitors behavioral health patients under CPI guidelines.
