Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Florida with an active license.
• BLS certification required; CPI within one year.
• PALS certification within 2 years of employment.
• Level II Background Check required throughout employment.
• 30-hour post graduate IV Therapy course (by 10/31/2025 for current employees).

Responsibilities

• Completes nursing pain assessment, pain reassessments, and vitals within appropriate timeframe.
• Communicates with RN to provide updates on nursing interventions and pertinent information.
• Assists with collecting specimens, transporting specimens, obtaining medication from pharmacy, performing EKG, CPR, and assisting in procedures.
• Provides point of care testing with documentation in EMR (RSV, Flu, Strep, Pregnancy Tests, I stat glucose, Occult blood).
• Transports patients within the hospital to procedures and admissions, supports RN to manage flow.
• Administers medications and assists with IV Therapy.
• Performs bedside hand off communication at shift change and patient reassignments.
• Assists with discharge planning paperwork and family education.
• Documents interventions and patient responses in EMR per procedures.
• Restocks supplies, assists with room turnover.
• Maintains an error-free environment and adheres to regulatory standards.
• Supervises and observes behavioral health patients and follows CPI guidelines.
