Phoenix Children’s is hiring a Psychiatric Emergency Dept Tech in Gilbert. This role provides age-appropriate supervision and support, crisis management, and participates in care per the care plan under supervision of a Clinical Nurse. Shifts include 7am and 7pm starts with 12-hour durations; positions are full-time or part-time.

The Tech conducts data collection, assists in patient care, supports families, and maintains a safe therapeutic environment within the ED, following EMS regulations.

Aufgaben

• Collect and record routine patient data including vital signs to ensure accurate charts and provide basic care for comfort and safety.
• Identify and report unusual findings or observations to healthcare professionals for timely intervention.
• Obtain blood specimens by physician order or protocol and assist in delivering lab specimens.
• Maintain unit environment by managing inventories of stock items, supplies and equipment.
• Provide continuous therapeutic care and observation to patients during meals, school sessions, social and educational activities, and daily living tasks to support treatment goals.
• Respond to crises calmly to ensure safety and implement behavior management protocols.
• Assist in educating parents on behavioral/emotional techniques and daily living activities.
• Serve as a 1:1 sitter for patients needing supervision for medical or behavioral reasons, ensuring safety and proper observation.
• Create and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and participate in in-service programs to stay updated on care plans.
• Perform miscellaneous job duties as requested.
