Job summary

Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Inc. seeks a Clinical Supervisor for the East Valley Emergency Department in Gilbert. The role supports clinical leadership, coordinates patient throughput, and oversees staffing and safety on a fast-paced pediatric ED unit.

The position requires active AZ RN license, at least 2 years nursing experience with 1 year supervisory experience, and pediatric care exposure. The role offers full-time hours, day and night shifts, and a mission-driven team culture.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Healthcare related field.
• Two (2) years of nursing experience OR demonstrated competence in bedside nursing role.
• One (1) year of supervisory or lead experience.
• Experience with pediatric patient populations.
• Current Arizona RN license or RN Compact license with multistate privileges.
• In compliance with the Arizona State Board of Nursing licensure requirements.
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association prior to start date.
• Current PEARS, PALS, or NRP certification from the American Heart Association OR must be obtained within 9 months of hire.
• Current and valid nursing certification in clinical nursing expertise OR must be able to obtain within one year of eligibility.
• Physical requirements include lifting up to 35 lbs, standing, walking, and fine motor skills.
• Occupational exposure to airborne diseases, bloodborne pathogens, and chemicals is possible.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates/leads daily clinical operational activities of the unit and organization while ensuring quality family centered care.
• Oversees staffing processes and assigns staff according to patient needs and competencies.
• Monitors unit environment to ensure supplies, equipment, and information are available.
• Maintains scheduling and documentation; reports status to oncoming supervisor.
• Promotes clinical leadership and staff development to retain talent and improve care quality.
