Job summary

Connecticut Children’s seeks an experienced registered nurse to provide direct professional nursing care for pediatric patients across the episode of service. Under supervision, you will apply the nursing process, adhere to standards, and report to the Nurse Manager.

Responsibilities include triage, trauma response, patient/family education, documentation, and collaborative care with the health care team. This role emphasizes capstone leadership on unit and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• ASN required upon hire. BSN preferred upon hire and required within 3 years of hire.
• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in pediatrics and/or emergency setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Practice- On a daily basis, demonstrates clinical expertise and uses the nursing process to provide safe, appropriate patient care to a defined patient population.
• Population Specific - Demonstrates knowledge of the differences and needs of patients in appropriate, specific populations from neonate through adolescence.
• Unit Leadership- Delegates duties and tasks according to hospital policy and scope of practice, supports unit productivity and resource management.
