Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, MD is seeking an experienced Unit Support Coordinator for our Pediatric Emergency Department. The role supports department operations, processes physician orders, and handles clerical tasks to ensure smooth patient flow and accurate data management.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, at least 6 months hospital/clinic experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 6 months experience in a hospital or doctor’s office.
• Current or prior Unit Support Coordinator experience strongly preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Proficient in PC, Internet and email.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Training in data entry of clinical systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support departmental operations by providing effective and timely communications, maintaining a clean, safe and orderly work environment, maintaining data and related records, and by performing clerical and other support services as directed.
• Be responsible for processing physician orders, communication, and other general duties.
