Job summary

Adventist HealthCare's Shady Grove Medical Center is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Unit Support Coordinator to assist with patient care and unit operations. The role emphasizes communication, coordination, and compassionate service in a mental health setting.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years healthcare experience, medical terminology knowledge, CPIC and BLS certifications, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service experience required.
• Ability to prioritize effectively required.
• Crisis Prevention Institute Certification required.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with internal and external customers in a manner consistent with AHC values.
• Provide resources needed for department to function efficiently.
• Escort patients off unit to ED, cafeteria, gym, courtyard, or off-campus appointments as needed.
• Rounds on patients at minimum every 15 minutes and documents per policy.
• Participates in supply chain management and equipment maintenance.
• Contribute to improved workflow, patient throughput, and inter-unit communication.
