Job summary

Adventist HealthCare's Shady Grove Medical Center in Gaithersburg, MD seeks an experienced Pediatric Emergency Department RN. The role requires a Maryland RN license, BLS, ACLS/PALS/NRP as needed, and at least 1 year of RN experience. Part-time schedule includes two 12-hour day shifts per week with weekend and holiday rotations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing score on NCLEX.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families through the continuum of care and enhance knowledge through guidance from senior nurses and the Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses and use electronic resources to support best practices in patient care.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to ANA standards of practice, embodying Adventist HealthCare values.
• Use equipment correctly, delegate non-nursing duties appropriately, and maximize efficiency.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identify changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective.
• Perform literature searches and apply findings to practice.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participate in evidence-based changes.
