Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with 2+ years of pediatric and congenital cardiac imaging experience. You will perform echocardiograms on infants and children, including complex anomalies, in a busy pediatrics unit.

The role requires ARDMS RDCS certification, BLS, andEpic charting experience, with on-call rotations and travel-friendly terms as part of a dynamic team. Navy blue scrubs are requested.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience in pediatric imaging.
• ARDMS RDCS certification required; ARDMS RDCS PE/FE preferred
• BLS certification required
• License required if applicable
• Epic charting system experience required
• Pediatric echo skills including 2-D/3-D echo, color Doppler, M-mode, Doppler studies, portable studies, and scanning complex anomalies and post-surgical repairs
• Adult echo skills including stress echo, TEE, bubble studies, and contrast imaging preferred
• Fetal echocardiography experience and diagnosis of conditions such as congenital heart defects preferred
• Knowledge of calculations including diastology, LV strain/volume, and Simpson's rule
• Ability to perform procedures in ICU/ED settings
• 12-lead EKG/ECG preferred
• First-time travelers will be considered

Responsibilities

• Pediatric echocardiography unit performing cardiac imaging on infants and pediatric patients
• Patient population includes congenital anomalies and various levels of care acuity
• Average volume of 6-8 exams per day
• Staffing ratio of 1:4 during daytime/weekday hours and 1:1 during night/weekend hours
• Uses GE and Philips ultrasound equipment
• 5x8 hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Weekend on-call required once per month (Saturday/Sunday, 7:30 AM to 7:30 AM)
• Weekday on-call hours are 6:30 PM to 7:30 AM
• Floating required within the department as needed
• Perform echocardiograms on infant and pediatric patients with a wide range of congenital cardiac anomalies
• Candidates must be comfortable floating within scope with no restrictions
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Weekend coverage required as part of monthly on-call rotation
• Candidates residing more than 50 miles from the facility are considered for this position under standard travel terms unless locally based
