Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with 5+ years of pediatric echo experience for a children’s hospital setting. Must hold RDCS PE or RCCS certification and relevant BLS/PALS, Cerner EMR experience, and state licensure where required.

The role includes a caseload of complex pediatric cardiac anomalies, 2-D/3-D imaging, TEE, and cross-coverage across NICU/PICU/CICU. Regular day shift with defined schedule and travel opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of pediatric echo experience required
  • RDCS PE or CCI RCCS certification required
  • BLS or PALS certification required (ARDMS FE, additional ARDMS, BLS, and PALS preferred)
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • Experience with pediatric acute care and pediatric outpatient settings
  • Skilled in scanning complex anomalies and post-surgical repairs
  • TEE experience required
  • Children's hospital experience preferred
  • First-time travelers considered if they meet the 5-year pediatric echo and children's hospital experience requirements
  • Active state license required; license required if applicable

Responsibilities

  • Pediatric Echo Tech role within a children's hospital setting
  • Caseload includes pediatric anomalies such as coarctation of the aorta, tetralogy of Fallot, transposition of the great vessels, hypoplastic heart syndrome, and coronary artery anomalies
  • Performs 2-D, 3-D, Color Doppler, Continuous Wave Doppler, Pulsed Wave Doppler, M-Mode, and portable studies
  • May float between NICU/PICU/CICU across all ages
  • Uses GE and Philips equipment along with PACS imaging system
  • Cerner charting system experience required
  • Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • No overtime, weekend, or holiday shifts required per the standard schedule
  • Patient ratio of 1:10
  • Independent work expected following a brief hospital and department orientation period
  • Scrubs must be children-friendly
  • Every other weekend and holiday coverage required, with one holiday guaranteed based on preference
  • Limited RTO permitted, with full-week RTO requiring make-up shifts or assignment extension
  • Returning travelers must have at least 1 year separation from prior assignment at this facility
  • Local candidates accepted with no mileage restriction at the same bill rate
