Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a part-time Early Intervention Occupational Therapist for Monmouth and Mercer Counties. The role focuses on evaluating and supporting infants and toddlers in home and community settings, providing family-centered, evidence-based OT services.

You will collaborate with families and interdisciplinary teams, coach caregivers, and ensure documentation and compliance with NJ Early Intervention standards.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Licensure: Current and unrestricted New Jersey Occupational Therapist license; driver’s license required.
• Experience: Minimum of two years of pediatric OT experience with infants and young children; evaluation experience preferred.
• Skills: Knowledge of infant/toddler development, family-centered coaching, IFSP development, Birth to Three standards, clinical documentation, collaboration, caregiver education.
• Schedule/Requirements: 32 hours per week; travel across Monmouth and Mercer Counties.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive developmental evaluations in natural environments.
• Develop and update IFSPs with families and team members.
• Provide evidence-based pediatric OT interventions for fine motor, sensory, self-help, and participation goals.
• Coach parents to integrate strategies into daily routines.
• Collaborate with SLPs, PTs, and other professionals for coordinated care.
• Document evaluations, notes, progress reports, and billing per program requirements.
• Communicate with families and team members via email/phone.
• Travel throughout service areas to homes, centers, and community settings.
