Job summary

Ascension's Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin, TX is seeking a Surgical Tech to support the CVOR team in a fast-paced pediatric environment. This full-time, day-shift role focuses on sterile technique, instrument handling, and assistive duties during complex cardiovascular and neurosurgical procedures.

You will prepare and calibrate suites, anticipate surgeon needs, and help ensure patient safety through precise counts and careful positioning of pediatric patients.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date or job transfer date (AHA or Red Cross accepted).
• Surgical Tech credentialed from NCCT or NBSTSA prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the safe, efficient execution of complex pediatric cardiovascular and neurosurgical procedures in a high-acuity CVOR environment.
• Prepare and calibrate specialized pediatric cardiovascular and neurosurgical suites with sterile and non-sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Provide direct surgical assistance by anticipating surgeon needs, handing instrumentation, and aiding in hemostasis during delicate pediatric operations.
• Assist in preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping pediatric patients while adhering to strict age-specific anatomical and safety protocols.
• Organize instruments systematically and perform continuous, precise counts of supplies and instruments throughout procedures to uphold patient safety.

Associate's/Technical degree
