Job summary

Ascension's Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin, Texas, is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join its high-acuity PICU team.

This employed role requires PA-C or AC-APRN licensure in Texas, a Master’s in Nursing, and Acute Care Certification; 2+ years PICU/EM or Hem/Onc experience preferred.

You’ll provide expert clinical management to critically ill children, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to family-centered care and quality initiatives.

  • Acute Care Certification required for all APRN applicants.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated Advanced Practice Provider to join an established, high-acuity PICU team at Dell Children's Medical Center.

  • Join an established team of 11 providers
  • Practice setting: Inpatient
  • Employed position within a nonprofit health system
  • Licensed as PA-C or AC-APRN
  • Eligible for state medical licensure and DEA registration
  • Provide expert-level clinical management to critically ill pediatric patients, utilizing advanced decision-making and procedural skills within a collaborative care environment.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary coordination to deliver high-quality, family-centered care, contributing to the team's ongoing quality improvement and leadership initiatives across the PICU continuum.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred.

Education:

  • Master's degree of Nursing required.
What additional preferences we're seeking
  • Acute Care Certification required for all APRN applicants.
  • 2+ years of prior PICU, Emergency Medicine or Hem/Onc as an APP or RN considered a plus.
