Job summary

SouthernMED in Wilmington, NC is seeking a certified CMA/RMA to support pediatric care teams by performing patient work-ups, phlebotomy, vital signs, and medications administration within regulatory scope. You will collaborate with providers, maintain patient records in EMR, and ensure safety and HIPAA compliance while delivering compassionate, high-quality care to children and families.

Requirements include active CMA/RMA, CPR certification, pediatric experience preferred, and strong

Qualifications

• Must have active CMA/RMA certification.
• CPR certification is required.
• Experience in a pediatric medical practice preferred.
• Working knowledge of computer applications; EMR experience preferred.
• Ability to speak, read and write effectively.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
• Detail-oriented with strong deadline management.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, and document vital signs in the chart.
• Instruct patients about medications and diets as directed by the provider.
• Explain treatment procedures to patients and prepare patients for exams.
• Assist physicians during patient exams and collect lab specimens.
• Perform basic laboratory tests and manage exam room supplies.
• Administer medications as directed and perform blood collection per OSHA.
