Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduation from a medical assistant or EMT program OR documentation that certification education is not required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, outpatient care tasks, and customer service concepts.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills; ability to operate basic medical equipment.
• BLS - American Heart Association.
• One of the following licenses and certifications: CCMA, CMA-AAM, CMA-C, EMT, EMT-A, EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-P, LIC PAR, NCMA, NRCMA, RMA.

Responsibilities

• Assist in collecting patient/family data across biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, and environmental domains.
• Collect and document vital signs, BMI, height/weight, and reason for visit with accuracy.
• Document medications, allergies, and other information in the EHR.
• Prepare patients for examination and assist during treatments, examinations, and testing.
• Document interventions per protocol; process refills as directed.
• Assist provider during office emergencies and maintain stocked rooms.
• Participate in daily huddles and monthly staff meetings; coordinate care and follow up on labs/ER visits.
• Identify vaccines eligibility and manage documentation; verify coverage for referrals.
• Manage outstanding orders and lab error queues; ensure timely results.
• Provide superb customer service.
