Job summary

DUKE HEALTH is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for the Duke Primary Care in Cary. The CMA supports clinicians with patient care, administrative tasks, and procedures in a busy clinical setting.

The role requires graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program (CAAHEP/ABHES preferred) and a high school diploma or GED. Prior clinical experience is valued, with opportunities for development within a Magnet-recognized health system.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is strongly preferred (CAAHEP/ABHES).
• High school or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Assist medical and nursing staff in examinations and procedures.
• Take medical histories and record vital signs.
• Prepare patients for exams and procedures.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Assist with medications and telephone prescriptions as directed.
