Job summary

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at Duke Health North Durham Clinic provides integral patient care within a multidisciplinary team. The CMA supports physicians and nurses, prepares patients, and helps ensure smooth clinic operations in a busy, adult-focused setting.

We seek candidates with MA program education and a strong foundation in patient care, documentation, and lab procedures. The role includes a commitment bonus and a Monday–Friday schedule, with 32–40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
• High school or GED graduation is required.
• Certification by AAMA/AMT/NHA-CCMA/NCMA/ARMA is preferred; BLS required.
• Level II/III require further certification as outlined in ladder.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and update and file medical records.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Assist the physician during examinations and procedures.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Document care and educate patients and families.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
• Take electrocardiograms.
