Job summary

Great River Health Systems is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for our Fort Madison Pediatric Clinic. The role supports providers with clinical and administrative duties, including pre-certification, specimen processing, and medical record management.

Responsibilities cover vital signs, injections, injections, patient prep, and ensuring accurate documentation. Eligibility requires CMA certification, a accredited MA program, and BLS/First Aid within 60 days.

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant credential required.
  • Basic Life Support & First Aid (American Heart Association) within 60 days.
  • Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training within 180 days.
  • 1–3 years of medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-certification with insurance companies.
  • Maintain electronic medical records and processing patient specimens.
  • Assist providers with office procedures and patient care.
  • Schedule appointments and manage billing/coding tasks.
  • Take vital signs, document histories, prepare patients for exams, draw blood, and assist with procedures.
  • Inventory and order medical supplies and equipment.
