Job summary

Edward Elmhurst Health is seeking a Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist Specialist at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL. This full-time role (40 hrs/week) involves days Mon-Fri, focusing on optimizing pediatric medication use and clinical protocol development.

Qualifications

  • Pharm D from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy preferred.
  • PGY1 residency plus 1 year of pharmacy practice appropriate for the program setting.
  • PGY1 residency plus PGY2 residency plus 6 months of practice appropriate for the setting.
  • Minimum three years of pharmacy experience in the relevant program setting.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and safe medication use.
  • Provide specialized pharmaceutical services and conduct medication reviews.
  • Develop and implement clinical protocols and guidelines within the department.
  • Lead and maintain a service or program in clinical, technical, or operational areas.
  • Serve as a primary preceptor for pharmacy residents where applicable.

Education

3+ years pharmacy experience

Job description

Hourly Pay Range: $61.48 - $95.29 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

What you will do

The Clinical Specialist plays a pivotal role in optimizing patient care by collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and effective use of medications. As a member of our pharmacy team, provides specialized pharmaceutical services, conducts medication reviews, and contributes to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and guideline. In addition, leads and maintains a service or program related to clinical, technical or operational areas within the department or health system. Where applicable, this role may also serve as a primary preceptor for pharmacy residents and must comply with all requirements associated with the training program and accrediting bodies.
