Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians and nursing staff, ensuring quality patient care in a fast-paced clinic. You will take vitals, document patient information, and assist with minor procedures while maintaining a clean, organized environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating referrals, handling scheduling, and communicating test results to patients, under provider supervision. Certification and BLS are required, with strong computer and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of an approved medical assistant training program.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification is required (RMA, CMA, CCMA or NCMA) with proof of membership where applicable.
• BLS certification is required; must meet Meaningful use requirements and stay current.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for exams by taking vitals, recording symptoms, and documenting chief complaints.
• Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures; performs phlebotomy, ear irrigation and EKGs as needed.
• Coordinates patient care including referrals, authorizations, and scheduling; communicates test results to patients.
