Job summary

Job Juncture in Greensboro, AL is seeking a Pediatric Clinic-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support infants through school-age children under supervision of an OTR. The role focuses on fine motor, sensory processing, self-help skills, and functional independence in a clinic setting.

Responsibilities include direct therapy delivery, play-focused activities in sensory gyms, collaboration with families and other therapists, progress notes, and home programs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Active Alabama COTA license or eligibility.
• NBCOT certification and Pediatric CPR/First Aid.
• Experience in pediatric clinic/outpatient therapy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct Therapy Delivery: Implement targeted pediatric occupational therapy interventions in a clinic setting to support children’s individualized plan-of-care goals, motor development, and functional independence.
• Clinic-Based & Play-Focused Skill Building: Utilize specialized clinical space and sensory gyms to focus on functional skill-building, including fine motor grasp, tool use, sensory integration, self-feeding, dressing, and gross motor coordination.
• Caregiver & Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary clinic team members to provide home exercise programs, sensory strategies, and adaptive recommendations for the home and school environments.
• Progress Tracking & Documentation: Document clinical progress toward specific functional milestones, complete timely session notes, and assist the supervising OTR with periodic re-evaluations and treatment plan updates.
• Clinical Equipment & Therapeutic Setup: Utilize and maintain clinic therapy equipment tailored to each child's individual treatment needs.
• Family Engagement & Education: Maintain warm, supportive communication with parents and caregivers to explain therapeutic activities, provide home strategy ideas, and ensure family-centered progress.
