Job summary

Phoenix Children's Hospital, Inc. in Glendale, AZ seeks a dedicated Child Life Specialist to plan and provide therapeutic intervention and psychosocial developmental care for pediatric patients and families, helping them cope with health care experiences.

You will participate in interdisciplinary rounds, document assessments and outcomes, supervise interns and volunteers, and promote family-centered care within the hospital.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Therapeutic Recreation or related field. Required.
• Master's degree in Child Life, Therapeutic Recreation or related field. Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient goals with assessment findings.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
• Provide a safe, therapeutic environment and supervise interns, student interns and volunteers.
• Represent and communicate family-centered philosophy on departmental and hospital-wide committees.
• Participate in continuing education and interdisciplinary education on growth and development.
