Phoenix Children's Hospital is seeking a Part-Time Child Life Specialist for the PCH-MAIN | Child Life Program in Phoenix, AZ. The role focuses on developing psychosocial and developmental care for pediatric patients and their families, helping them cope with hospitalization and medical experiences.

Responsibilities include assessing coping needs, creating individualized plans, delivering education and therapeutic play, advocating within the care team, and mentoring students or volunteers.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field.
• Master's degree in Child Life, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field preferred.
• Completion of a 480-hour professional Child Life Internship.
• Professional Child Life experience in a hospital setting.
• Bilingual English-Spanish skills preferred.
• BLS certification required or within 30 days of hire.
• CCLS credential or within 18 months of hire and maintained thereafter.

Responsabilidades

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient/family coping needs related to illness and hospitalization.
• Use PRAP and Emotional Safety screener to assess psychosocial risk.
• Develop individualized treatment plans with patient and family goals.
• Provide education and coping support about diagnoses and procedures.
• Facilitate developmentally appropriate therapeutic play and self-expression activities.
• Advocate for patient/family within the healthcare team.
• Participate in rounds and document assessments and outcomes.
• Mentor students and supervise volunteers as eligible.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as requested.
