Job summary

University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Authority in Madison, WI, is seeking a Sr. Casting Technician - Pediatric to join our Orthopedics team.

This 100% FTE, 40-hour/week position works on-site at American Family Children's Hospital and UW Health Science Drive Medical Center, with daily 8am-4:30pm schedules. You will apply and adjust casts and braces, assist with minor wound care, and collaborate with medical staff to choose the best casting solutions for pediatric patients.

Qualifications

• No minimum education required.
• 2 years experience applying casts, splints and other orthopedic devices.
• Current CPR/AED Certification Required.
• Current Casting Technician/Technologist Certification Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Join our Orthopedic surgeons who provide a full range of surgical services.
• Collaborate with all medical staff to determine the most appropriate cast or brace for a patient with particular diagnosis and treatment(s).
• Assist with development and follow policies and procedures relating to cast room staff duties.
• Provide quality care to pediatric patients in a compassionate and patient-family centered environment.
• Apply and remove casts, apply and adjust braces and splints, perform suture removal and minor wound care, and stocking supplies.
• Promote healthy lifestyles, wellness and education.
