Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health seeks a Pediatric Care Tech for the Children’s Oncology department at the New Brunswick facility. The role is day shift, per diem, with a 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. schedule and potential weekend/holiday shifts. Responsibilities include direct patient care, vital signs, and collaboration with the care team.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and CPR certification; CNA experience or certification is preferred. Pay is hourly and commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification through American Heart Association required.
• Certified nursing assistant preferred or nursing assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide nursing care including vital signs and phlebotomy.
• Support patient safety and comfort according to care plans.
• Communicate with nursing staff about patient status and needs.
• Help coordinate patient care from admission to discharge.

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Pediatric Care Technician for our Children's Oncology, in our New Brunswick Facility.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) through American Heart Association

Preferred:

• Previous nursing assistant experience or clinical experience from an accredited nursing program preferred.
• Certified nursing assistant preferred.

Scheduling Requirements:

• Day Shift, Per Diem (2 shifts minimum per month), 7a-3:30p, includes some weekend and holiday shifts.

Essential Functions:

• The CCT is a direct patient caregiver who assists patients with activities of daily living and provides nursing care to patients including taking vital signs, EKGS, performing phlebotomy, assisting or providing patients with bedside care, i.e. bathing, mouth care, skin care.
• Providing patient care, based on physical, education, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients in assigned service

• Providing for effective and safe patient outcomes through practice, judgment and critical actions
• Ongoing communication with patients and nursing colleagues regarding status of patient's care
• Participating in collaboration of our patient's plan of care from ad mission to discharge to ensure safe transitioning
