RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Pediatric Infusion CINJ clinic in New Brunswick, NJ. This day shift, per diem role supports hematology/oncology infusion treatments for pediatric patients in a six-chair clinic.

Active NJ RN license, BLS, and oncology experience are required. Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, safe medication administration, multidisciplinary collaboration, patient education, and precise documentation in EPIC.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
• CPHON certification preferred; APHON Biotherapy/Chemotherapy certification is a plus.
• 2-5 years pediatric oncology experience preferred; pediatric BMT and outpatient experience preferred.

Responsibilities

The Pediatric hematology and oncology infusion clinic provides treatments for benign hematology, oncology, and post bone marrow transplant (BMT) pediatric patients. The clinic is equipped with 6 infusion chairs, 1 non-infusion/RN treatment chair, and 1 pediatric lab chair with pediatric trained medical health technicians performing all pediatric phlebotomy needs.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety
• Contributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care
• Taking an active role in a highly collaborative team environment where shared accountability and teamwork directly impact outcomes

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification, Certified Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurse (CPHON) Certification, & APHON Biotherapy/Chemotherapy Certification are required. 2-5 years of previous Pediatric Oncology experience is required. Pediatric BMT experience and Pediatric Oncology outpatient experience is preferred. An Associate’s degree in Nursing is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position is Day Shift, Per Diem.
