Job summary

Nemours is seeking a Patient Services Specialist II (Primary Care) for Winter Haven, FL, to join our pediatric primary care team. This full-time role focuses on delivering friendly, accurate patient registration, scheduling, and front-desk support within the clinic, ensuring a smooth patient flow and exceptional service.

You will handle phone triage, collect insurance information, process authorizations and referrals, collect co-pays, and manage EMR paperwork to keep patient records up to date.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 1 year of specialized training beyond high school.
• Customer Service and Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer phone lines in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Register patients with accurate information for scheduling and appointments.
• Coordinate paperwork for registration, scheduling, and physician visits.
• Verify and collect patient insurance information, authorizations and referrals.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and balances; balance end of day.
• Schedule visits, manage no-shows and cancellations, and prep charts for providers.
• Triage electronic communications and manage patient records in EMR.
• Handle release of information and medical record requests.
• Ensure coding accuracy on billing documents.
