Job summary

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Patient Services Specialist II (Primary Care) for the Palm Bay location in Florida. The role is full-time and focuses on registration, scheduling, and customer service within a pediatric primary care team.

The position involves handling patient information, insurance verification, scheduling, and coordinating care across clinical staff. Travel to other primary care locations may be required, and previous medical office or call center experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Specialized (1 year of training beyond high school).
• Minimum of 1–3 years' experience preferred.
• Customer Service and Healthcare experience preferred.
• Medical Office/Call Center experience preferred.
• Travel to other primary care locations as needed for coverage.

Responsibilities

• Answer phone lines in a prompt and courteous manner; triage calls and handle appropriately.
• Registration: collect, maintain and ensure accuracy of information for registration and scheduling.
• Coordinate paperwork for registration, scheduling, and appointments.
• Collect, verify and maintain patient insurance information, including authorizations and referrals.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, and balances; end-of-day balancing.
• Schedule office visits; manage no-shows and cancellations; prepare charts for physicians.
• Triage and manage electronic communications; scan paperwork into EMR; place information in patient chart.
• Process release of information and medical record requests.
• Ensure coding information is complete on billing documents.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
