Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a flexible, patient-focused aide to support routine nursing care on the Pediatric unit in Morgantown, WV. You will assist with daily living activities, vital signs, transport, and basic tests under RN supervision, contributing to a safe, clean, and efficient unit.

The role requires a high school diploma and BLS/ Heartsaver certification soon after hire, with rotating shifts and a non-exempt status. Prior patient care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (or HeartSaver First Aid) within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct patient care and basic physical care as directed by an RN.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and bed-making.
• Transport patients and specimens per unit policy.
• Perform routine phlebotomy and basic tests as assigned.
• Record vital signs and inputs/outputs according to policy.
• Provide respiratory support and use of oxygen equipment as needed.
• Communicate patient concerns to the RN immediately.
• Assist with examinations, procedures, and basic rehab activities.
