Job summary

The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP) seeks a nationally recognized Pediatric Cardiology Section Chief to lead the pediatric cardiology program in Peoria, IL. This role combines clinical leadership, education of medical students, residents and fellows, and strategic program development.

The successful candidate will expand services, build a destination program, promote regional referrals, and lead clinical and translational research aligned with hospital priorities.

Qualifications

• Completed both Pediatric residency and Pediatric Cardiology fellowship training.
• Minimum of 6 years of Pediatric Cardiology experience.
• Board Certified in Pediatric Cardiology.
• Eligible for licensure in Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Section of Pediatric Cardiology with 10 physicians and 4 advanced practice providers.
• Develop clinical programs, foster regional referrals, and promote destination program status.
• Support education of medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Develop research strategy and align with hospital priorities.
• Collaborate across cardiology, surgery, anesthesia, and critical care to optimize care pathways.
