Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the cardiac device clinic team at Advocate Christ Medical Center. The role focuses on comprehensive management of patients with pacemakers and ICDs, device interrogations, and remote monitoring in a high-volume environment.

Requirements include a BSN or equivalent, 2 years of clinical experience (or 5+ years in cardiovascular care) with EP/Device exposure, and active RN licensure with CPR and ACLS.

Qualifications

• BSN or equivalent required; minimum 2 years clinical experience, with at least one year in EP/Device clinic or 5+ years cardiovascular experience.
• Proficiency in interpretation of EKG/cardiac rhythms/arrhythmias.
• Current RN license in the state of practice; CPR and ACLS certifications required or within probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Consistently educates patients and families about heart pacing and device care.
• Administers medications per policy and monitors responses.
• Evaluates and manages care of patients with pacemakers and ICDs.
• Contacts patients regarding device recalls and follows up with monitoring and adjustments.
• Performs device interrogations and reprogramming for in-office and remote follow-up as needed.
• Ensures accurate documentation in EMR and completes billing for services.
• Manages patient flow, delegates tasks, and ensures equipment and supplies readiness.
