Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC, is seeking an experienced specialized cardiac device nurse to provide direct care for patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs). You will perform device interrogations, postoperative assessments, and remote monitoring, ensuring safe programming and optimal pacing as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires BSN, current RN license, ACLS/BLS certification, and at least four years of cardiovascular/electrophysiology nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• BSN required.
• Minimum four years of cardiovascular nursing, electrophysiology nursing, critical care nursing or cardiac device nursing experience.
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) through the AHA.
• Current RN license.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates autonomous direct cardiac rhythm management patient care for patients with CIEDs via device interrogations, diagnostic review, and analysis of device function.
• Performs postoperative CIED patient assessment and teaching on incision care, device function, ICD shock plans, and remote monitoring.
• Programs device parameters safely to optimize pacing, rate modulation, safety, and battery longevity in collaboration with clinicians.
• Recognizes abnormal functions of pacemakers, defibrillators, ILRs and CRT devices and addresses issues accordingly.
• Maintains professional communication with Cardiac Electrophysiologists and other providers; documents data clearly.
