The role requires management of billing and coding changes across payors (Medicaid, Commercial, Private Pay), training staff on new codes, and maintaining up-to-date fee schedules and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the billing department for a private practice
• Ensure posting and collections of all billable encounters are accurate and timely
• Manage changes in billing and coding environments across Medicaid, Commercial, and Private Pay
• Train billing and clinical staff on new codes and processes
• Maintain current fee schedules and billing manuals for all payers
• Monitor billing systems (e.g., claim rejection) and provide bi-weekly reports
• Address aged accounts and unpaid claims with staff
• Maintain EHR user status and participate in user groups and trainings
• Ensure patient confidentiality and provide information to patients as needed
• Assist in developing training processes for new hires and existing staff, and update written procedures
