Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our medical practice. The role involves overseeing billing operations, accurate coding, and submissions, while ensuring compliant documentation and records.

The candidate will manage charge entry, AR follow-up, data processing, and reporting in collaboration with the Practice Administrator and Operations Manager. Strong coding knowledge and billing software experience are required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in medical coding (ICD-10, ICD-9) and familiarity with DRG systems.
• Experience with billing software and practice management systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate with patients, providers and payers.
• Knowledge of accounts receivable and reimbursement processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversees billing department operations including coding, charge entry, and claims submissions.
• Plans patient insurance documentation, billing, collections, and data processing.
• Analyzes billing and claims for accuracy and submits to insurance entities.
• Follows up on claims via practice management, EHR, and clearinghouse.
• Maintains interdepartmental data to document and process billings.
• Prepares accounts receivable and financial reports with management.
• Audits procedures to improve billing and collections efficiency.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations.
• Participates in developing operating policies and procedures.
• Monitors trends in charges and collections; realigns staff as needed.
• Keeps up to date with carrier rule changes and disseminates the info.
• Performs physician credentialing actions.
