Job summary

Phoenix Children's Hospital, Inc. seeks a part-time Behavioral Health Support role to provide individual and group supervision, crisis response, and family education within a pediatric care setting.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to support treatment plans and ensure patient safety in daily activities and routines. Qualifications include a high school diploma (or equivalent) with two years in behavioral health, or a BA/BS in psychology or related field.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; two years in a behavioral health related field may supplement.
• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Recreation Therapy, Sociology, or related behavioral health field preferred.
• Pediatric experience is preferred.
• Current fingerprint clearance card required prior to employment.
• BLS certification for Healthcare Provider required.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention certification required or to be obtained within 60 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group age-appropriate developmental and psychosocial supervision, support, and treatment.
• Assist treatment team with decision-making and share pertinent information with physicians, RNs and social workers.
• Provide continuous therapeutic care and observation during daily routines, meals, school sessions, and activities of daily living.
• Educate parents on behavioral and emotional techniques and support.
• Implement behavior management protocols safely and effectively.
• Respond to crisis situations to maintain safety for patients and staff.
• Serve as a positive role model and maintain professional boundaries with patients and guardians.
• Create and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and maintain confidentiality.
• Perform 1:1 supervision as needed across units and hospital.
