Job summary

Children’s Nebraska in Omaha seeks a Behavioral Health RN to join the Behavioral Health Float Pool. The role requires flexibility to support patient care across units, respond to behavioral emergencies, and maintain safety with high-risk patients. Requires nursing degree and Nebraska RN licensure; PMH-BC preferred after 2 years.

Night shift, 36 hours per week. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, document care in EPIC, and contribute to high-quality pediatric behavioral health

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing is required or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.
• 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
• Experience with pediatric patients preferred.
• PMH-BC certification after 2 years and/or 2000 mental health care hours preferred.
• Nebraska RN licensure required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Conducts individualized age-specific patient/family assessments according to unit scope and nursing standards.
• Collects and documents data related to patient’s care.
• Demonstrates competency in assessing patients by growth, development, and care needs.
• Develops and updates plan of care with Behavioral Health Team.
• Implements and evaluates nursing actions per plan and patient needs.
• Coordinates with interdisciplinary team to ensure safety and outcomes.
• Maintains accurate documentation and compliance with hospital guidelines.
