Job summary

Children’s Nebraska is seeking a registered nurse to join the Behavioral Health & Wellness Center in Omaha. You will provide age-appropriate nursing care to pediatric behavioral health patients, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and use the EPIC system for care planning and documentation.

The role emphasizes safety, patient-family education, and adherence to standards while supporting a trauma-informed model of care.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Nebraska required
• BLS required; PALS preferred
• 2 years psychiatric nursing experience preferred; pediatric experience preferred; EPIC experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct age-appropriate patient/family assessments and document findings.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans with Behavioral Health Team.
• Respond to behavioral emergencies and ensure patient/staff safety.
• Provide appropriate education and discharge planning for patients and families.
• Document care and orders in EPIC per policy and timelines.
• Support staff with evidence-based practices and safety protocols
