Job summary

UNC Health Youth Behavioral Health (YBH) in Butner, NC is seeking an RN Clinical Nurse I for a 14-bed adolescent psychiatric unit (Cardinal/1YBH). The role involves 12-hour night shifts on a 36-hour work week, with no rotating shifts and weekdays/weekends preferred.

Orientation in Chapel Hill is required every two weeks. Provides competent nursing care to adolescents 12–15, collaborates with an interdisciplinary team, and supports stabilization and long-term mental health planning in a

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as an RN in North Carolina.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Education: identify learning needs and use patient education materials.
• Evaluation of care: participate in interdisciplinary evaluation and plan of care revisions.
• Implementation: care for patients with complex problems and coordinate with resources.
• Leadership: develop goals, participate in unit goals and performance improvement.
• Patient assessment: determine priorities for care and discharge planning.
• Planning: collaborate with patient/family to update care plan.
• Research: review journals and discuss applicable ideas with staff.
