Job summary

UTHealth Houston is seeking a highly motivated Nurse Practitioner – Acute Care to join the Children’s Heart Institute ICU. The APP will provide front‑line patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team in the Texas Medical Center.

Qualifications

• Current Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Current Texas licensure as an APRN‑NP.
• Current national certification as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
• BLS and PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides advanced nursing care to patients with complex acute, critical, and/or chronic conditions in a hospital setting.
• Coordinate, implement, and monitor patient care plans with the healthcare team.
• Order and interpret basic tests and imaging when appropriate; document findings.
• Educate patients and families about medical processes, medications, and health promotion.
